Terasic Announced World's First Arria II GX FPGA Development Kit
Terasic, the world’s leading electronics design service provider and manufacturer, was selected by Altera, the world’s leading provider of programmable logic solutions, to design the first Arria II GX FPGA Development Kit.
Terasic successfully designed and manufactured the Arria II GX FPGA Development Kit using Altera’s Arria II GX 40-nm FPGA that features PCIe x 8 lane, low-power, and low-cost, which is capable of operating transceiver applications up to 3.75Gbps.
This development kit went through intense simulation, which is critical in evaluating signal integrity of circuit designs and operating with high-speed interfaces such as DDR3 and DDR2 memory, Gigabit transceivers, and Gigabit Ethernet. With complete system-level development and testing of designs, Terasic has effectively delivered a high-end FPGA system ideal for implementing a range of functions required in communications, broadcast, computer and storage, test and measurement, medical, and military applications at an affordable price.
Luanne Schirrmeister, senior director of component product marketing at Altera Corporation, said: “The Arria II GX development kit allows customers to rapidly evaluate Arria II GX FPGAs and quickly move their product designs from concept to reality.”
Key Features of Arria II FPGA Development Kit include:
- Arria II GX EP2AGX125EF35 FPGA in F1152 package
- 128MB 16-bit DDR3 memory and 1GB 64-bit DDR2 SO-DIMM
- PCI Express x 8 lane
- Gigabit Ethernet and Transceiver up to 3.75Gbps
