Atum A5 : How to using VNC XFCE

Here is the procedure for using XFCE via VNC with the Atum A5 Linux Image, which comes preinstalled with VNC and XFCE:

UART Terminal:

  1. Launch a UART terminal, such as PuTTY.
  2. Boot the FPGA board
  3. Log in to the system.
  4. Type 'ifconfig' to find the assigned IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.131).
  5. Type 'vncserver' and set a password (e.g., terasic1). When prompted, input 'n' to disable view-only mode.

Windows Desktop:

  1. Launch a VNC viewer, such as TightVNC.
  2. In the connection dialog, input the remote host IP '192.168.1.131::5901'.
  3. Enter the VNC password (e.g., 'terasic1').
  4. The XFCE desktop should now appear on your screen.
