Error: No EPCS layout data – looking for section EPCS-014017 Unable to use EPCS device

Q: If you encountered the erro below when programming the EPCS via nios-2-flash-programmer:

No EPCS layout data – looking for section [EPCS-014017] Unable to use EPCS device

A: Please have a try to add the contents below into the nios2-flash-override.txt file:

[EPCS-014017] #EPCS64N(lead-free)

sector_size = 65536

sector_count = 128

and then copy the modified nios2-flash-override.txt file to the [QuartusInstalledFolder]\nios2eds\bin folder.

Please check the configuration setting,
