The CP2105 (USB to UART) Driver Installation Instructions

  1. When the user connects the USB cable to the FPGA board, the “Device Manager” window on your Windows system should see two USB to UART devices as shown in the Figure below.
    The chips corresponding to these com ports are as follows:

    CP2105: "Standard" and "Enhanced" COM Port
  2. To install the driver for CP2105, users can download the windows driver at here : CP210x_Universal_Windows_Driver.zip
    User can also download the driver from manufacturer's download site.
  3. Under the Device Manager window, select "Enhanced Com Port" and then right-click to choose'Update Driver".

  4. Click the downloaded driver location to install the driver.

  5. The driver of the "Enhanced Com Port" is installed and complete.

  6. Repeat the same steps above to the "Standard COM Port" to install the driver.

  7. After the driver installation of CP2105 is completed, two USB to UART ports can be seen in the "Device Manager" window
