Terasic Technologies, the leading provider in high-performance hardware and software solutions, is introducing a new product line with Cypress CapSense Solution . The CapSense Matrix Keypad board is available to be ordered on-line now. This is the first time Terasic is designing with a PSoC solution and stepping into the field of capacitive sensing technology.

The CapSense Matrix Button Keypad board is designed to allow users to easily implement a matrix keypad user interface solution using Cypress’s CapSense / SmartSense technology. The board contains 16 capacitive touch buttons organized in a matrix style format. The board will enable users to achieve quick-to-market designs in large solution applications such as fire alarm control panels, security systems, and door locks. The touch sensitivity of the board performs well even when covered under an acrylic board with a thickness up to 3 mm.

The business cooperation between Cypress Semiconductor and Terasic Technologies started in late 2010. The CapSense board project was kicked-off and completed within only 2 months. Terasic showed high efficiency and great flexibility during the process. YL Chen, Cypress Business Development Senior Director of DCD Division, visited Terasic on January 6th, 2011 to present the Platinum Design Partner acknowledgement. “It’s our honor to be listed at the highest rank of Cypress Design Partner Program. We will work even harder to keep the glory,” said Terasic CEO Sean Peng. The Platinum Design Partner acknowledgement was issued by Palani Subbiah, Cypress Worldwide Design Partner Program Manager, himself impressed by Terasic’s capabilities during an earlier visit.

Besides the debut of CapSense Matrix Button Keypad board , Terasic is also working on other Cypress projects. It is to be expected that there will be more Terasic boards utilizing Cypress solutions and PSoC modules.
